Samsung LED TV Common Fault Tips
This is a quick tip for the TV repairer. A lots of the customer complaint the Samsung LED TV problem like non-stop TV auto On/Off , TV start-up then shutdown and LED red light blinking and so on. Here is a special case for the Samsung UA40D5000 LED TV. When the TV supply with the AC power, the TV red LED light lit. Use the remote control to power on the TV, the TV will start-up a while then shutdown. The LED light is blinking non-stop. This type of TV problem last time will appear randomly, but this time it is appear more often now. As usual, self test the TV power supply board (PSU) , it can output the voltages normally. Even connect to their backlight, the backlight also working properly. Disconnect the T-con board, the TV problem still appear like before. So suspect the TV Mainboard, especially their LDO voltage output and Flash memory (chip or their firmware). After checking the TV Mainboard, all looks okay. Even try to re-programming the NAND chip firmware with RT809H programmer, the TV also same problem! So decided to buy a working TV Mainboard to replace it. When good TV Mainboard arrived, just replace it and power on the TV. OMG…the TV still same problem!!! What’s wrong?? Because of the previous experience we know that the LED TV has lots of LED light bulb or LED Strip problem, so use the LED Backlight Tester to testing this TV backlight. But the strange thing is their backlight can light up normally. So decided to open this TV panel and checking their LED Strips situation. Be careful when dismantle this TV panel. Bingo! Found their LED Strip first LED light bulb got burnt marking there.
After replace the LED light bulb, the TV is working properly now! But I suggest replacing the LED strip, not just that LED light bulb only. After that I found some TV problem like I mention before, all these problem is cause by the LED light bulb opened/burnt or the LED Strip connection with another LED Strip bad connection.
